Corso Giulio Cesare 20
The plaits in the image provide a small illustration of the extreme complexity generated by the actions that make up our community life. Every action is bound to and reliant upon other actions.
The multitude of actions that are necessary to create a change are represented by the warp-and-weft framework, while the hands that hold the pieces together shine a light on some issues that are important to us in our social lives.
The actions of individuals, which build and sustain all of our lives, are ropes of different colours; representing the stories, colours, countries and lives of the people who live in this city and in this world.
The strength of a net is the result of the strength of its fundamental components combined together, meaning that even the humblest thread or plait can have real importance. This subject, even though physically small in reality, is depicted using a huge wall as its canvas to emphasise its value, which is often not understood by all.
The magnitude of the work in the context that it has been created represents a reflection on diversity and change.
